AMA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
The program is open to both
incoming freshmen and continuing students with
at least (1) year of residency. It covers full
waiver in the tuition and other fees. One grantee
is selected for every 250 students. Incoming freshman
students qualify by passing the competitive examinations.
Contuning students must have at least a cumulative
GWA of 1.75. The number of awardees is largely
based on the student enrollment population for
a given term. Preference is given to those with
family income below P60, 000.00.
The AMA Scholarship program
is being implemented to comply with the requirement
of providing scholarship grants for one student
per 500 students (1:500) as set forth by Presidential
Decree No. 451.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Incoming Freshmen Students:
The parents and guardians of the applicant must
have an annual gross income not exceeding P60,
000.00 Annual gross incomes includes the income
of both parents or of all the guardians. Guardianship
should be manifested through an affidavit. All
other qualifications regarding this matter should
also be manifested through an affidavit.
The applicant must submit a Certificate of Good
Moral Character.
The applicant must not be presently enjoying any
form of financial assistance or scholarship grant.
The applicant must not be related to any of the
officers or faculty members within the fourth
civil degree by consanguinity.
The applicant should have taken and passed the
Competitive Scholarship Examination with a minimum
over-all percentile rating of 40%.
The applicant should have finished secondary education
at the top ten percent of the graduating class
with a composition of not less than 200 members.
Continuing Students:
The parents and
guardians of the applicant must have an annual
gross income not exceeding P60, 000.00 Annual
gross incomes includes the income of both parents
or of all the guardians. Guardianship should be
manifested through an affidavit. All other qualifications
regarding this matter should also be manifested
through an affidavit.
The applicant must submit a Certificate of Good
Moral Character.
The applicant must not be presently enjoying any
form of financial assistance or scholarship grant.
The applicant should have obtained a cumulative
general weighted average of 1.75 or better, must
be up to date with all the academic and non-academic
requirements; and must have no grade lower than
2.5 in any of his/her academic subjects and 3.00
in any of his/her non-academic subjects.
The applicant must have been enrolled in he University
for at least three consecutive trimesters with
a minimum load of 15 units each trimester.
The applicant should have finished secondary education
at the top ten percent of the graduating class
with a composition of not less than 200 members.
