Numerical Point System Percentage Equivalent/Meaning
1.00 95-100 excellent or superior performance
1.25 90-94 very good performance
1.50 85-89 above average performance
1.75 80-84 satisfactory performance
2.00 75-79 average performance
2.50 74 below below average performance and does not entitle the student any credit for a particular course
NFE/INC   the student failed to submit a subject requirement/failed to take the final examination of the course
OD   officially dropped dropped the course, or changed his/her status with official approva
UD   unofficially dropped the course without official approval


  1. A student who received a grade below 2.0 in a required subject must repeat the course. This is equivalent to “F”. If the subject is an elective, he may repeat the course or substitute another course in its place.
  2. “F” is a warning and should be treated seriously. A student incurring two (2) “Fs”, or their equivalents, eliminates himself from graduating with a Master’s Degree, and is dropped from the roster of degree candidates under the program in which he is enrolled.
  3. A student is allowed a 20% absence record. Beyond this, he may be given a “2.5” failing mark. An hour late constitute absence for the session.
  4. Students are required to write and successfully defend a thesis before a panel of oral examiners as a requisite for the conferment of a masteral degree.
