MASTER OF ARTS IN COMPUTER EDUCATION

The Master of Arts in Computer Education (MACOED) Program is designed to meet the growing demand for trained men and women in the field of education and computer technology. It seeks to develop educators who will undertake research in the field of computer education. The program is envisioned to provide the educational community with competent faculty, responsive to the changes in information technology and attuned to the growing demand for graduates with proper training in computer technology.

Specifically, the MACOED Program shall:

  1. Develop in the students an understanding of the role and responsibilities of computer professionals in the Information Age;
  2. Develop the students attitude, technical skills and commitment necessary in the academe;
  3. Provide the students with the necessary theoretical and philosophical foundations in education;
  4. Provide the students with the theoretical and practical training of the needs of an Information Society;
  5. Strengthen the analytical skills of students for problem solving and decision- making;
  6. Develop in the students an interest in research in computer technology; and
  7. Provide the students with the necessary technical and practical skills in the area of computer technology.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The MA in Computer Education Program is open to holders of Bachelors Degree in Education, Business with major in Computer or Computer Science from any reputable local or foreign school and have satisfactorily passed the AMACC admission requirements for Graduate Study.

All applicants are required to be Computer Literate, with at least six (6) units of computer subjects or its equivalent (i.e., certificates of computer training) and be proficient in both oral and written English.
