COLLEGE
OF ENGINEERING
The College of Engineering provides a stimulating academic environment for individuals interested in the application of science and the development of new technology for the benefit of society. Academic study combined with individual and group research projects prepare students for the professional practice of engineering. Programs of study at all levels emphasize fundamental principles in order to provide the basis for lifelong professional development as technology continues to evolve. Technological problem solving capabilities are also developed to provide students with the needed exposure for practical applications.
BS Computer Engineering
The Computer Engineering program covers relevant up-to-date engineering concepts needed to analyze and design advanced computer systems. It provides the students with comprehensive engineering subjects leading to the mastery of all computer system designs in all types of hardware and software applications. With the modern instructional methodologies and state-of-the-art equipment, the students learn to develop skills in computer system architecture, software design and programming.
BS Electronics and Communications Engineering
The Electronics and Communications Engineering program prepares students for a wide range of practical electronic jobs ranging from circuit analysis to digital design, control and robotics. It concentrates on the study of circuit design and stimulation, network analysis and synthesis, transmission lines, micro-system design, and fiber optic communications.
BS Electrical Engineering
The Electrical Engineering program is designed to prepare students for responsible engineering positions in the planning, design, construction, operation, management and maintenance relating to generation of electrical power. The program keeps pace with changing technology by offering courses in the fields of communication, control systems, digital signal processing systems, electromagnetics, digital and analog electronic circuits, physical electronics, computer-aided design and power systems.
BS Industrial Engineering
The Industrial Engineering program prepares students for professional careers in the analysis and design of human-machine work systems. It is distinctive in its emphasis on quantitative, economic, computer-aided approaches to production, and service management problems. It prepares its graduates for design, evaluation and operation of a range of industrial systems from the analysis of business productivity to the detailed operation of manufacturing plants. The program also includes a substantial component in the humanities and social sciences to help students understand the societal implications of their work.
