The promotion of research in higher education institutions is one of the mandates of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). All academic institutions are in constant search for better instruction and extension activities which do not only inform students but also aim to transform them into individuals responsive to the needs of Filipino society. The ultimate end of education must always be the formation of individuals who shall work towards the building of a better Philippine Society.

Towards this end the AMA Education System (AMAES) established the Research Management Section whose aim is to discover and disseminate the truth and scientific facts that contribute to building knowledge in the various disciplines.

AMACU research is basically focused on the promotion of Information Technology and its application to other fields of endeavor. Although major Philippine universities delve on a plethora of research priorities, AMACU is specializing in IT education for which it hopes to be recognized by CHED as a center of excellence.
